Hello Cthulhtists​, ​ One of ​my​ -favorite-​ goal is to create « intelligent « props. It's something I love to work on, inspired by the internet of objects, the everyday acceptance of mobiles and the development of the wireless technologies.

In order to connect all and to optimize the « management » of your runs , I have to improve the maintenance, anticipate the breakdowns.

​In this perspective, I worked on ​the secret box that will be hidden in the Idol. ​With Viel Ours my old fellow Geo Gearloose, we tried several prototypes before we found the easiest way to do it. Of course this one will be used in the model and will be cast​ apart from the idol. Then the two pieces will be assembled .

​I've started the new model of the Idol. Then, I'll make the cast of the sculpture.​ Matt is currently working on the scenario...I can't wait to discover it !

Dear backers,

I had to buy larger speakers for the Idols. The first one I bought for the prototype was no longer avaible. I guess it’s a blessing in disguise because a larger speaker broadcast a better sound.

Then « Vieil Ours » will change a bit the secret disposal and I will start the Idol. The final size might change a little bit but It won’t be discernable.

Next update, I’ll send you the pix of the secret drawyer.

Vieil Ours and the secret compartment.

Hi Everyone ,

I hope you are all doing fine !

I have worked with Vieil Ours ( literally "Old Bear") on the secret compartment of the Idol. He is an ancient stage set designer who worked for theaters, opéras and several architectures in France, Belgium and Canada.

He is the kind of person that can build something amazing with discarded object he finds on the street. Right now he is making animated UFOs with second hand materials 😉

I think we found a smart solution to hide the speaker inside the sculpture's basement. This secret compartment can be opened in order to recharge the battery. To access it you will have to pull off a part of a wing.

Vieil Ours is doing the model of the secret compartment. Then I will build my sculpture around it and after a last checking, we will proceed to the mold making.

I like when things are starting to taking shape !

The month of Janus.

Two sides to deal with : The idol of Cthulhu and the Masks of Nyarlathotep, chapter NY and Kenya.

I should receive the money of the funding next week. then I will set an appointment with the person who will help me with the secret box of the Idol. While Matt is working on the scenario, I will focus on the statuette, then when I will receive his first draft, I will start working on the illustrations.

As I said in the comments, we will propose a "Part 2" or follow-up scenario later in the year (probably in October) with props.

220 backers !.. so impressive ! What a great way to end the year 2017 !

Thank you for being here with us ! We will built together a full experience : how great is it to extend the pleasure of gaming!

 I am so happy that I can get back to my drawing table and dive in the Noir genre.

 I can't wait to read Matt Sanderson's final scenario. I am sorry we couldn't reach the 20k and have the opportunity to give you one more chapter. 

Where do we go from here ?

While Matt will write his scenario I will deal with the castings. I had scheduled a first appointment to concretize the secret drawer with the molder, January 20th. I will finish the settings on the Voodoo box which is pretty already advanced. Then I will start the mold making of the idol and the tablet and the start the castings in February and paint every piece in March. In April and May I will dedicated my time to the illustrations.

Many thanks again for all your support ! I am very happy with this funding and I hope it will be the beginning of other collaborations between my work and writers.
