IOC props and scenario

I think it's time to give update you about our project.
 

-The scenario is complete with a total word count of 41,414. That makes it longer than originally intended, but Matt made a very detailed scenario, with a lot of investigation and a lot of detail given to the various ways informations can be given to the player.
 

The scenario needs to be formatted but we will do the layout page when the illustrations will be over.
 

-HPHLS recorded and edited the audio voices for us.
Matthew Sanderson gave his blessing when he received the samples « Very happy indeed - nice creaky floorboards, subtle chimes in the background - nice and atmospheric :-) »
 I didn’t received all the voices files yet but I should have the rest of the files soon. Anyway we have some other work to do, so we are not in a hurry for the sound files.
 

- All the fancy black wooden boxes for the Idol are made and stored in my new studio. Now, I must attach some decoration parts inside of them (mainly the choalk that would help you draw some strange patterns on the floor when you will be doing some cultish ceremony…)
 

 - I made a few tests with the polyester plaster : I will be using the terra cotta color  instead of the white one. It gives a much deeper color to the Idol.
 

- I am sorry that the illustrations work is going a bit slow. I had to finish the prototypes I will propose for the last chapters of the Masks of Nyarlathotep : Shanghai and Australia.
Despite my four years of experience, the work to prepare a Kickstarter is still important and time consuming. And I need to propose them regularly since some crowdfunders will need the props while they are still playing the campaign, so it needs to be done regularly.

A new year to celebrate with you! I want to tell you that you are all in my thought for this new year. I am grateful to be supported by each of you. Even if we never meet each other, we have a bond by our mutual imagination. What a blessing for an artist to create objects that will be part of a moment of pure creativity ?

I promise to cherish everything I am doing for you and to make my best to make your needs as keepers and players a reality.

2018 was a bit rough on me and I know I didn’t take care enough of myself and therefore I wasn’t efficient and creative as I should be. I learned how to manage my several activities together, to be assertive and be more organized with the other people I am working with.

Thanks again for your support and patience.

I hope you all had a cheerful Chthulmas !

I am waiting for HPLHS news. They were suppose to see about casting the show and booking some studio time for us. I let them choose the specific actors from HPLHS shows that would be perfect for the voices we selected with Matt Sanderson. I send them right away my wishes and relaunch the process to move forward on the audios.

I received the new 50 speakers for the Idol ;) This time it would give me great peace of mind to keep them at home to avoid any bad surprise.. At 99% of the time there is always somebody at home.

 In my new studio, after weeks of missing appointements with my colleagues because of the flue and other friendly diseases of the season, the works are almost finished 😉

 I just have to attach the curtains to close my room from the other space (which is double bigger than mine) to spare the heat in my space work. I put some PVC sidewalls on the windows to block the cold and create a double-glazing. Since my 40's I have Raynaud's syndrome, so beside heated gloves- which aren't very useful for a sculptor- the room temperature where I work has to be well controlled. With a radiator plugged continuously, it works perfectly.

In January I want to focus on the illustrations. When this part will be finished, I will be able to send you the backerkit, at least ! and I will continue the casting of the Idols of Cthulhu.

I wish you the best for the new year to come ! I want to thank each of you for your support and patience all through the year. We know that production of unique items like the one I do can be unpredictable, and unfortunately my activities through these last months have slowed down as a result of reductions in ressources..but things are looking up ! and as my grandma used to say :" All things come to those who wait."

Best wishes for those last days of 2018. Let's make 2019 a fantastic year for RPG all over the world !

Long Update : Flue/Heat nest/Santa and YOUR OPINION ON SHANGHAI/AUSTRALIA

Right you backers, I've been breaking my back carrying boxes like an old donkey in several locations to store my studio stuffs and spent all my mornings finishing the prototypes for Australia and Shangai in the perspective to close the Masks of Nyarlathotep's props before the end of the year and during my afternoons and evenings working as an assistant to an English Gallery at the international fair of Paris Photo. Invevitably I got in returrn a very nice flue that I first tried to fight with my best weapon " let's continue like nothing is happening " before my body made me a scene alike a bad romance tv-show : " you never paid attention to me; If you don't change anything, I am going to ruin your life"

So, I've stayed in bed for five days.. cursing against the bacterias invaders. ..and then I received a letter from my insurance company : all that was robbed is refunded ! Your speakers will return from the Darkness !!..and from what I saw, the same size speakers are still on sold; ,that's an awesome new (I won't have to do another mold to adapt a different size speaker inside the Idol of Cthulhu) Sometimes right things happened in this crazy world.

You might ask yourself "why the frack I didn't received any backerkit survey"? and you're all totally legit to ask. I've never explained why I didn't finish it. It's not because my to-do list is longer than a round trip to the moon, it's because I have to finish my illustrations for the scenario before I through the survey. and those illustrations are not done yet. I am drawing at home or on my desk in an open space office where my association "la Societé protectrice des nuages" * and I are in permanent residency. But meanwhile, I also have to make things happening in my new studio : it's an old building and it's not isolated. With my colleagues, we are building a heat nest in the whole space to make it possible during winter time (end of march here). So everything take its own time laps. I wish I could have got directly in this big light studio without doing any construction work while my leprechauns were making all my administration work by singing joyfully...but I am not Santa neither that rich artist that never get their hands dirty by making their art themselves.( I wouldn't mind doing only the masters and the finishies tough)

I am taking the opportunity to make a quick opinion poll : as I said, I am working on the last chapters of the Masks of Nyarlathotep (Shanghai and Australia) and I already made a version of the Bloated woman. I'm trying to find something interesting for the mechanical repair but it seems to be an expensive piece to create for a prop that won't be there for long in the campaign. Therefore, I would like to know if you have some special wishes about the props you think are needed for the last chapters (except the paper props, since i don't have the licence for them) ?

 I will be studying all your proposals. MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE.

A new studio

Hey Cthulists!

I might have found a new studio:) it’s a bit farer than the one I had but it’s also bigger and way less expensive. I would have to share 200m2 with 4 other people and all of them have second jobs, so it's not like we'll be tripping over each other. The atmosphere of the place is alike the studio I was in during my studies in the Fine Arts of Paris. That student feeling will be good for my creativity. I’ll send you some pics.

First we have to rethink a bit the whole studio for multipurpose spaces and a heated corner to work during frozen times - the guys there are cold-proof but unfortunately I am not - at the second basement and first floor levels to meet requirements for functions other than shooting, filming, editing or lectures and special events like gaming sessions in partnership with the art school nearby .

I still wait for the assurance company's answer concerning the robbery. I am confident because it’s known to be one of the more efficient and customer friendly insurance from all the French offers.
