Handouts

Hello everyone,

As you know, we have now chosen the printer, and I’m currently working with them to finalize all the technical details—number of files, formats, paper quality, everything is being checked to ensure the best result.

On top of that, I’m trying to negotiate a little extra for you, thanks to their hot stamping press, which allows for UV flat printing on a wide range of materials and products. I’m exploring what we can add to make your package even more special.

I’m working closely with the printer to make sure every step is completed ASAP. I’ll keep you posted as soon as the production file is sent, so you’ll know exactly where things stand.

Thank you again for your patience and support. Since you’ve waited so long, I’m doing my best to make sure your patience is truly rewarded.

Talk to you soon,

Delphes

I've found it!
12 months ago – Thu, Apr 17, 2025 at 07:42:17 AM

Hello everyone,

Good news! I've found two printers to work with. One works in artist's book publishing, and the other - the one I'll be working with in principle - specializes in immersive publishing, and claims, in his words, that emotion comes not only through the visual... but through touch.
The publisher has expertise in the creation of real fake documents, and offers an extensive material library with papers that resist fingerprints, grease, tearing, crumpling and more.
We've had a long talk on the phone, and we'll be able to work out and choose the papers together, and maybe even some other pleasant surprises, if it fits in the budget. The printer is used to working with ageing effects, technical inks (photochromic, thermochromic, scratch-off, olfactory, etc.), letterpress, gilding, manual binding, leather work for grimoire production, etc.
In short, we don't necessarily need all that, but the good news is that they are professionals who, like us, likes to create printed objects that arouse emotion, awaken the senses and reinforce immersion.

The only thing is, they're 600km away - I know for some of you that's nothing at all, but in a country like France, it is a long way- So we're going to send each other samples by post, which is very easy.

I'm now waiting for the quote, but I'm confident (they said we will find a way to make it work) and excited to be able to expand the possibilities in terms of printing.

Talk to you soon!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well in these uncertain times. With everything happening around us, I just wanted to send a warm thought..

Here’s an update on our production progress:

At the end of December, I sent an Idol of Cthulhu to one of you in Australia to test my wrapping system. The sculpture arrived intact, which was one of my biggest concerns, although, on a personal note, I feel that the aesthetics of my wrapping still need improvement. However, in collaboration with Khelbiros, we identified a technical shortcoming for which a solution was already in the works. I have sent the necessary materials, and Khelbiros will be sharing his feedback in the coming days – many thanks in advance for his review.

Meanwhile, I’ve been busy packaging the idols, with each piece taking me about an hour. Fortunately, I haven’t finished packaging all 45 pieces yet because I’m still waiting for the printed handouts. The printer I had chosen the papers selection with left the company before completing my order ! I was expecting him to contact me until my worry turned into frustration. Obtaining information has proven to be complicated, and frankly, it tested my patience. So I'll be heading back on Wednesday morning to check everything with them.

If only I could have an  assistant to ensure that kind of orders are processed on time instead of relying solely on my professional partners to get back to me...Nothing beats the good old calendar with notes in red to keep everything on track (because alerts on my phone are not suffisant while i'm working on another job)

I’ll keep you updated as soon as I receive Khelbiros’s review. In the meantime, I wish you all an excellent end to the winter season.

Kind regards,

Delphes

Xmas update

Dear backers,

🎄 Merry Christmas t 🎄

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for this holiday season and a wonderful Christmas. Your support and patience mean the world to me, and I’m thrilled to share some updates on the progress of the Idol of Cthulhu!

📦 Shipping is underway:
I’ve started shipping. Each package requires special care: between carefully wrapping everything and preparing the shipping labels, it takes me about 1.5 hours per parcel. This ensures optimal protection against shocks, damages, or other transport issues. I’m proceeding step by step and waiting for feedback from the first backer to confirm that my packaging system works before moving forward with the rest of the shipments.

🚚 A frustrating experience with Chronopost:
For shipping, I chose Chronopost Express’s pickup service, where their staff was supposed to collect the packages directly from my workshop. This would have saved me from carrying 7 kg parcels to the drop-off point at a fixed time slot. Unfortunately, despite a 4-hour wait, no one showed up—though they claimed otherwise. It’s the kind of situation that drives you crazy! I will be contacting their customer service as soon as I manage to reach them to resolve this issue. I’ll keep you updated.

🗿 A special holiday gift for you:
To mark this festive season, I wanted to share my last personal creation: a little "Cthulhu-esque" gargoyle I sculpted during the day of Notre-Dame Cathedral's reopening. I will find out how to produce it in metalI.. hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Once again, thank you all for your incredible support and enthusiasm. You’re amazing, and you motivate me to keep pushing forward every day. Stay tuned for more updates soon.

🎅 Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a very happy holiday season!

With gratitude,

Delphes
